Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the Name of the Lord our God. Psalm 20:7
As I worked through today's lesson this verse kept running through my mind. The psalmist was clearly referring to the great strength and power in chariots and horses and how easy it is to put our trust in the physical objects around us. But the next phrase says it all, it's where his heart is. His faith is so strong the Name alone inspires trust. The psalmist was totally satisfied with the Lord. Why aren't we? Are we so totally wrapped up in America's culture of "stuff matters" that we can't see the pure simplicity of faith? It appears so...The more we get the more we want. Let's try applying that adage to our relationship with God. More of Him, more of His Word, more of His people...Total satisfaction!!!
